75th Anniversary of D-Day of the Invasion of Normandy, France, “Never Forget.” D-Day is the term for a secret date on which a military operation is to begin. The most famous D-Day is June 6, 1944, when the allies invaded Normandy. The allies: Americans, British and Canadians assembled almost 3 million men for the invasion. General Eisenhower told his forces: “You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade.”
